UL Certification

 

UL logo is recognized in the United States as well as North America security certification mark, affixed with such signs of products, it is equivalent to access to a safety quality credit card, its reputation has been accepted by the vast number of consumers. Therefore, the UL logo has become a special pass for products (especially electromechanical products) to enter the United States and the North American market.

UL marks are divided into 3 categories, namely column name, classification and approval mark. The main components of these signs are the patterns of UL, and all of them are registered trademarks. It is not common to apply them to different service products.

Column name

UL's column name sign on the product indicates that the sample of the entire product of the manufacturer has been tested by the UL and complies with applicable UL requirements.

Classification

Products with this mark, whose dangerous limits or scope of use have been assessed.

* meta / component authentication

In order to accelerate the speed of evaluation of product or system, and save money for the component or incomplete performance limiting, for UL column or classification of product or system products, can be yuan / component certification. Using UL - Certified components in any final product does not mean that the product itself is a product of the UL column name.

An individual or enterprise engaged in activities with UL in the name of an applicant

APPEALS PROCEDURE (complaint procedure)

If the customer has different views on the results of the engineering test or tracking test, they may discuss it with the relevant engineer or field representative without fear of compromising the future conclusions. If a satisfactory response cannot be reached at this level, the customer may lodge a complaint to the higher level until the president.

APPENDIX (attached)

A part of the detailed rules, which includes the responsibilities of the factory and the Site Representatives, and the requirements for the relevant tests. It is also possible to describe the tests carried out for samples sent to UL.

APPLICANT (applicant)

An enterprise or individual who applies to the UL for testing its components, products, or systems. Legally, this party will be responsible for testing and tracking the cost of the service and for all the information relating to the results of the test. See also agency.

CATEGORY CONTROL NUMBER (CCN) (class control number)

The character representation of different product categories in UL column names, approval, and classification services. For example, AVLV2 stands for electronic wires; QOWZ stands for portable lamps. In general, XXXX is the name of the product, XXXX2 is the approved product, XXXX7 represents the Canadian listed product, and XXXX8 represents the approved product complying with Canadian standards.

COMPONENT (parts)

A part of a product that needs to be tested separately for its performance and / or structure in addition to being part of the overall product. Parts may be column names, recognized or non - listed components.

CONDITION OF ACCEPTABILITY (applicable condition)

These items are listed in the reports of approved or non listed components, but not as the basis for inspection by site representatives. These projects are based on test results that indicate the limits and conditions for the parts to be used with the finished product. For example, in a report of a switch, it may be indicated in the "applicable conditions" that the product applies only to currents below 1A or below 125C.

CONTROL NUMBER (control number)

UL identifies one of the four possible components of the mark, specified by UL. The control number may vary periodically depending on the product category and the type of tracking service.

FACTORY IDENTIFICATION (factory logo)

An identification mark used by a manufacturer who produces the same product in different factories to distinguish which plant is produced at which plant.

UL certification standard

The brand UL certification certification standard set the largest safety certification agency UL APPROVED, by UL APPROVED affiliated Underwriters American UL safety test Laboratories Inc. test, to determine whether the product conforms to the standard. UL certification can be broken down into the following:

The brand 1.UL LISTED: all types of equipment for UL product registration regulations.

2.UL RECOGNIZED: UL for improving the recognition of all types of parts are the rules.

UL products apply for UL certification, please provide the following information:

Product name

Product model

Product use - please tell us how and where to use your product. For example: family, outdoor office, factories, coal mines, ships, etc.

Parts list - please provide the name, type, rating and manufacturer information of the product parts. If the parts have been certified UL, please indicate the UL file number of the part. We encourage customers to use as many components as possible with UL signs to shorten the time of the experiment and reduce the cost of the project. If a component has more than one supplier, can provide.

Performance and specifications: such as size, rated voltage, current, frequency and power etc..

Structure diagram: for most products, we need a product structure diagram or an exploded drawing, an accessory list, etc. Please mark the name and size of each part in order to correspond to the parts list or the parts list.

Product photos, instructions, safety matters, installation instructions, etc..

Authentication procedure:

Step 1: submit the following forms and materials

1. fill in the application form (this form should be completed in both Chinese and English)

2. applicant company information form (this form should be completed in both Chinese and English)

 

Explain what you need to fill in the form:

Applicant company: this company will contact the company for the application for the UL project, and will be responsible for all project service charges.

Name company: this company is the name of the company listed in various product catalogues published by UL.

Manufacturing plant: this factory is the manufacturer and producer of the product in the application.

3. provide product information

Second step: Offer

The test standards, test times and costs will be determined in accordance with the information provided by the applicant company.

The third step: payment

After confirming the offer, the applicant will sign the application form and the tracking service agreement and pay 100% of the project fee.

The fourth step: determine the test plan and pre test (optional according to customer requirements)

Conduct pre test of customer's products according to UL test instruction, and coach applicant company to be qualified. The pre test report will be sent to the UL headquarters for review.

The fifth step: field testing

After the US UL engineer confirms the pre test report, the engineer will travel to China to conduct field tests on the product being applied.
